Why should I participate in a Mindfulness Retreat?

Participating in a mindfulness retreat gives you the opportunity to disconnect and start anew. In this uplifting, energizing and inspiring experience, you’ll be with a group of clinicians who share your experience and challenges, and wholeheartedly understand your day-to-day struggles. Moreover, you’ll be learning skills that you can take back to work, that will help you regain the calm and balance you’ve been longing for.

With guided sitting meditation, dharma talks, group and individual exercises, and walking meditation, you’ll learn how to:

  • Spend more time “being” as opposed to “doing”
  • Question limiting thoughts and beliefs that contribute to burnout
  • Shift your patterns of reactivity
  • Prioritize care for yourself
  • Develop the muscle of self-compassion, critical for building resilience
  • Implement practical mindfulness exercises seamlessly into your day

What clients are saying about their physician retreat experience

“Being at the retreat helped me put things into perspective, and helped me realize that I have all the answers! I feel that I will be a more loving and present mother and wife. Gail has a calm confidence and wisdom when she speaks that kept me intently focused on the “talks” and material that she shared. And the food was amazing and nurturing!” – Geriatrics, Louisiana

“I believe every aspect of the retreat added value and I loved the diversity and interactive nature of all the activities. The retreat empowered me to enhance communication at work, with my spouse, children, and friends. I believe yoga and meditation will improve my mood, happiness, focus, and health. Gail has attracted a diverse group of amazing physicians to this retreat and each one added so much value and authenticity.”

“Before the weekend I was planning on resigning my position because I felt hopeless. Now I have the energy to go back to work. I left the retreat feeling energized. Most importantly, the feeling of always being inadequate has dissipated.”- Obstetrics, Massachusetts

“The retreat helped me see that I’m not alone. I could express openly how I felt without judgment and with so much compassion. I am now less anxious, worried, and stressed every day with the tools I have learned. I’m more present for my husband, daughters, and extended family, and able to let go of things I can’t control.” – Internal medicine, Wisconsin
